My name is Andrew and one of my best friends, Mallory has fibromyalgia. At the time when I first met her, I didn’t know that much about her or her condition. I remember her being so full of life and a joy to talk with and knew in my heart that she’d be a good friend, and still is. As I’ve gotten to know Mallory over the past couple years, I’ve learned more about fibromyalgia and the weight of pain it can carry. Even though Mallory’s condition isn’t maybe as severe as others, it still breaks my heart that someone as sweet as her, has to deal with this day in and day out. It’s not fair. But even though Mallory has good and bad days, she always seems to carry that smile on her face and fight through it. I’m extremely proud of her and love her dearly. I’m so grateful for this friendship and the advocate she has been for fibromyalgia and helping others cope. I hope that one day there will be a cure for this and that Mallory and others can be pain free.
