Kiley’s Story!

How does fibromyalgia affect your life?

Fibromyalgia affects my life in so many ways. It affects my social life the most though I would say, as a young adult I have missed out on a lot of opportunities that my fibromyalgia has limited me from. Fibromyalgia also affects me positively though, it makes me a stronger person and gives me a reason to advocate for awareness.

What is one thing you want others to know about living with fibromyalgia?

Just because you can’t see it doesn’t mean it’s not there or it’s not bad.
It is hardest when…?

I sit down after a busy, long day and I feel the pain my day caused, knowing I have to get up and do it all over again tomorrow.
What helps you cope with fibromyalgia?

Giving my pain a voice and talking to others who understand what I’m going through.

What would you like to have changed in the medical field regarding fibromyalgia?

I would really love if doctors were less dismissive of the diagnosis “fibromyalgia” and were more empathetic towards my pain.
